Friday 30th September 2005.

 

PENDEEN WATCH; Tow Sabine's Gulls past late evening.


Sunday 25th September 2005.

 

PENDEEN; This morning, sea-watching produced four Balearic Shearwater, eleven Sooty Shearwater, two Grey Phalarope, and single Pomarine, Arctic and Great Skuas.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was still present today, also noted was a single adult Mediterranean Gull, five Greenshank and eight Little Egret.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; The Long-billed Dowitcher was still present today.

MARAZION MARSH; Three Spotted Crakes were noted near the sanctuary area today.

GWEEK; The Black-winged Stilt was at the bridge again today.

LOE POOL; The Rose-coloured Starling was still present today near the Degibna car park.

NANJIZAL; An Ortolan Bunting was located in a stubble field at the seaward end, next to the broccoli field.


Saturday 24th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; Two Spotted Crake is still near the sanctuary area. Also noted this morning were eight Grey Wagtails, four Water Rail and a Great Spotted Woodpecker.

MARAZION BEACH; Two Mediterranean Gulls, (an adult and a first winter), were present today, a Sandwich Tern was also off shore.

PENZANCE/ ISLES OF SCILLY; A Cory's Shearwater was noted this morning, and a Sooty Shearwater was noted this afternoon..

DRIFT RESERVOIR; The Long-billed Dowitcher was still present today, also observed were two Wood Sandpipers, three Common Sandpipers, a Spotted Redshank, two Dunlin and a Merlin.

GWEEK; A juvenile Black-winged Stilt was present near the bridge, all day. (Some locals said the bird has been present since Monday).

LOE POOL; The Rose-coloured Starling was still present today near the Degibna car park. On the pool itself the female Red-crested Pochard and a Ruddy Duck were recorded.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was again present today together with a Curlew Sandpiper and a first winter Mediterranean Gull.

CAPE CORNWALL; Two Choughs were noted on the golf course today.

LAND'S END; Two Choughs were noted today, (the above birds).

ST LEVAN; A Dotterel was in a field near the Church car park.

COT VALLEY; A single Firecrest was noted.

HUSTYN WOODS; Up to 20 Crossbills were present this morning.

LYNHER ESTUARY; A Spoonbill was off Wacker Quay this afternoon.


Friday 23rd September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; A Spotted Crake is still near the sanctuary area.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was again present at Lelant Water. A Curlew Sandpiper and a Spotted Redshank were present at Ryan's Field.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; A Long-billed Dowitcher was present near the hide today.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was again near Degibna car park, today.

PENTIRE/ RUMPS; A Lapland Bunting was present on the Rumps this morning. A single Balearic Shearwater was noted past as well as one Long-tailed Duck, one Red-throated Diver, two Commic Terns and 60+ Auk sp. A White-fronted Goose was noted sitting on the sea.

PENDEEN; Seawatching today produced a Great Shearwater, four Cory's Shearwater, 23 Sooty Shearwater, five Balearic Shearwater, three Leach's Petrels, five Storm Petrels, two Great Skua, one Pomarine Skua and a juvenile Sabine's Gull.

AMBLE MARSHES; This morning a single Curlew Sandpiper was present together with 14 Little Egret.


Thursday 22nd September 2005.

 

AMBLE MARSHES; The Pectoral Sandpiper was still present this morning. Also noted were 37 Black-tailed Godwit, one Bar-tailed Godwit, 23 Little Egret and three Yellow Wagtail.

MARAZION MARSH; A juvenile Spotted Crake is still near the sanctuary area.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was again present at Lelant Water. This afternoon a Great White Egret was reported off the swimming pool at Copperhouse Creek.

KENIDJACK; Two juvenile Choughs were present today.

SENNEN; A Whimbrel and 20 Curlew were noted on the Green today.

CLAPPER MARSHES; The Shoveler was still present this evening. Three Herons were also noted.


Wednesday 21st September 2005.

 

HARLYN POOLS; One male Tufted Duck was present this morning, also noted were eight Mute Swan, four Little Grebe, 29 Swallow, one Grey Wagtail and a Yellowhammer. A Siskin flew over calling.

CAMEL ESTUARY; Off Padstow this morning a total of 36 Mediterranean Gulls, (14 adult, six second winter and 16 first winters), were count on the falling tide, also noted were 60 Dunlin, five Ringed Plover, four Sanderling, one Little Egret, 236 Herring Gull and 56 Great Black-backed Gulls. A Grey Wagtail flew over Padstow.

DENNIS POOL, PADSTOW; Three Little Grebe, four Moorhen, one Kingfisher and two Chiffchaffs were present this morning.

MARAZION MARSH; A Spotted Crake is still near the sanctuary area.

MARAZION BEACH; One adult Mediterranean Gull on the beach this morning.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was again near Degibna car park, today.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was agin present at Lelant Water, a first winter Yellow-legged Gull was also present.

CADGWITH; A Yellow-browed Warbler was located in sycamores near the the coast path, just south of Devil's Frying-pan, this afternoon.

PORTHGWARRA; Sea-watching today produced; four Cory's Shearwater, eight Sooty Shearwater, four Manx Shearwater, five Balearic Shearwater and a Great Skua.

AMBLE MARSHES; This afternoon, two Spotted Redshank, two Green Sandpipers, one Common Sandpiper and two Whinchats were present.

SENNEN COVE; Four fist winter Mediterranean Gulls were present this morning.


Tuesday 20th September 2005.

 

DAVIDSTOW AIRFIELD; Four Yellow Wagtails and 20 Dunlin were present this morning.

AMBLE MARSHES; Two Spotted Redshank, 34 Black-tailed Godwit, two Curlew Sandpipers, 50 Dunlin, one Wigeon and one Sparrowhawk were noted today.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was again near Degibna car park. A Bittern was observed near the hide this afternoon.

MARAZION MARSH; Two Spotted Crakes were again in the sanctuary area this morning.

MARAZION BEACH; An adult Mediterranean Gull was present on the beach this morning.

SENNEN COVE; 17 Purple Sandpipers were recorded this morning, together with 26 Turnstone.

STITHIAN'S RESERVOIR; A juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was at the northwest side today.

CAMEL ESTUARY; A juvenile Goshawk flew over, the amble dam, late this afternoon.

CLAPPER MARSHES; Seven Teal, one Little Grebe, 18 Mallard, three Moorhen and a Heron were present this evening.

PENZANCE/ ISLES OF SCILLY; A Grey Phalarope was noted from the Scillonian this afternoon, also noted were five Balearic Shearwater and a Sooty Shearwater.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was again present at Lelant Water.

PORTHGWARRA; A Melodious Warbler was near the drier up pool this morning. A juvenile Surf Scoter was noted off shore this afternoon before flying off west.

Monday 19th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; A Spotted Crake is still within the sanctuary area.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was again present along the track between Degibna car park and Carminowe Creek. A female Red-crested Pochard was on the pool.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey is still present at Lelant Water this morning. On Ryan's Field two Green Sandpipers, two Common Sandpipers and three Bar-tailed Godwits were present this morning.

PORTHGWARRA/ NANJIZAL; At Treveane Pool the Melodious Warbler was present again  today.

AMBLE MARSHES; The juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper was present again, also noted were four Whinchats and a Green Sandpiper.

CAMEL ESTUARY; Off Burniere Point, late this afternoon, two Spotted Redshank, one Curlew Sandpiper, one Knot, 60 Dunlin, six Ringed Plover, ten Bar-tailed Godwit, 44 Little Egret, 25 Black-tailed Godwit, one Lapwing, three Sandwich Terns, ten Teal, 12 Wigeon and one Peregrine were noted. At the Amble Dam a single Turtle Dove, two Wheatears, 80 Greenfinch and 12 Red-legged Partridges were present.

SENNEN COVE; Two first winter Mediterranean Gulls were noted on the beach today and a Common Tern was noted off shore.

ST WINNOW; This morning 12 Little Egret, 76 Curlew and a Common Sandpiper were present.

PAR SANDS; Two Dunlin and two Turnstone were noted on the rocks this morning.

PAR BEACH POOL; 23 Canada Geese, 22 Mute Swans and a Chiffchaff were in residence this morning.


Sunday 18th September 2005.

 

DAVIDSTOW AIRFIELD; 97 Canada Geese were sitting on the airfield early morning, also present were 12 Dunlin, six Ringed Plover, 15 Wheatear, one White Wagtail, 250 Pied Wagtails and 40 Meadow Pipits.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The Osprey was watched fihing at Lelant Water this morning. At Ryan's Field, four Bar-tailed Godwits and two Green Sandpipers were present.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was again present along the track between Degibna car park and Carminowe Creek. A female Red-crested Pochard was on the pool.

CROWDY RESERVOIR; Two Curlew Sandpipers, eight Dunlin and a Snipe were present early morning, also present were three Great Crested Grebe, two Pintail, 49 Mallard, 14 Teal, 30 Pied Wagtail, one Yellow Wagtail and one Peregrine. A Marsh Harrier flew over east this morning.

LAND'S END; At the Complex this morning a RED-THROATED PIPIT was found together with a Richard's Pipit. Also present were seven Whinchats and three Tree Pipits.

MARAZION MARSH; Two Spotted Crakes were present this morning, as was the Scaup.

PORTHGWARRA/ NANJIZAL; At Treveane Pool a Melodious Warbler was present all day and two Richard's Pipits flew over. Two juvenile Choughs were also present.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The Osprey was again present at Lelant Water, also present were three Curlew Sandpipers, two Green Sandpipers and an adult Mediterranean Gull.

CROFT PASCOE POOL; A Pectoral Sandpiper was present this afternoon, but was flushed at 16.40.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; A Wood Sandpiper was present today, (a possible Baird's Sandpiper was taken by a Sparrowhawk this afternoon).

POLGIGGA; A Common Rosefinch was located on wires along the track between Higher and Lower Bosistow Farms.

DOZMARY POOL; Four Tufted Duck, five Snipe, 26 Coot and a Little Grebe were present this morning.

COLLIFORD LAKE; One Curlew Sandpiper, 26 Dunlin, five Ringed Plover and one Common Sandpiper were recorded this morning. Also present were six Whinchats, 22 Tufted Duck, 46 Canada Geese, one Barnacle Goose, and three Great Crested Grebes.

CLAPPER MARSHES; The single Shoveler was still present this morning, as was seven Teal, three Moorhen, a Snipe and a Little Grebe.

HARLYN POOLS; Five Little Grebes, 12 Moorhen and two Teal were present today.

ST BURYAN; One Dotterel flew over this morning.

CAMEL ESTUARY; A full count on the estuary today produced; 73 Little Egret, 18 Mediterranean Gull, one Little Stint, one Sanderling, one Knot, 222 Oystercatchers, 368 Curlew, 60 Redshank, 18 Wigeon, 21 Heron, three Common Sandpipers, two Kingfishers and a Peregrine.


Saturday 17th September 2005.

 

AMBLE MARSHES; The Pectoral Sandpiper was noted again today, also noted were six Curlew Sandpipers.

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake was again in the sanctuary area today, and a Scaup was also noted.

MARAZION BEACH; The 17 Pale-bellied Brent Geese were still present all day.

NANJIZAL; An Ortolan Bunting and a Nightingale were present this morning.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; A male Ring-necked Duck was located off the dam this afternoon, also noted were three Garganey and a Little Stint.

COLLIFORD LAKE; A single juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpiper was reported today. A single Little Stint and two Turnstones were also present.

KENIDJACK; A Wryneck was noted in a garden at the west end of the valley today.

SENNEN COVE; Two, (a first winter and a third winter), Yellow-legged Gulls were present today. Late this afternoon a Grey Phalarope was present off the Lifeboat Station.

NANQUIDNO; Still the two juvenile Choughs are present.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was again present along the track between Degibna car park and Carminowe Creek.

LANDULPH MARSH; An Osprey was noted fishing here today, also noted was a single Curlew Sandpiper and Spotted Redshank. Three Avocets were also noted.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was still present this afternoon at Lelant Water, at 17.00 it flew off towards Copperhouse Creek. A single Curlew Sandpiper was reported from Lelant Water today.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; Two juvenile Pectoral Sandpipers were viewable from the hide today together with a Wood Sandpiper.

PORTHGWARRA; A Dotterel was noted briefly on the moors this morning.

Friday 16th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

MARAZION BEACH; The 17 Pale-bellied Brent Geese were still present today.

LOE POOL; The juvenile Rose-coloured Starling still present today.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The Osprey was watched fishing at Carnsew Basin this morning.

FALMOUTH; A first winter Mediterranean Gull was noted on the Penryn River this morning.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; Three Garganey are now present in the northeast arm.

PORTHLEVEN; A WHITE STORK was noted early afternoon near the A394/ b3304 junction.

NANQUIDNO; The two juvenile Choughs were still present this afternoon.

LANDULPH MARSH; An Osprey was noted briefly this evening.

ST LEVAN; An Ortolan Bunting was located near the church car park.

COT VALLEY; A Wryneck was present this afternoon.


Thursday 15th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

MARAZION BEACH; 17 Pale-bellied Brent Geese were present today.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; Two Garganey were located in the north-west arm this morning.

HAYLE ESTUARY; One Curlew Sandpiper still present.

ST WINNOW; Two juvenile Ospreys were present this afternoon.

LOE POOL; A juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was noted between Degibna car park and Carminowe Creek.


Wednesday 14th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

AMBLE MARSHES; The Pectoral Sandpiper was still present this afternoon. (Unfortunately the bird now has a broken leg).

CAMEL ESTUARY; An Osprey was present on the estuary this afternoon, roosting in a tree at Dinham Flats.

PENDEEN; Two Sooty Shearwaters, a Balearic Shearwater and a Whimbrel past this afternoon.

RAME HEAD; A ringtail Hen Harrier was noted this evening.

MARAZION BEACH; The 17 Pale-bellied Brent Geese are still present today, an adult Mediterranean Gull was also present.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The Osprey was still present at Lelant Water this afternoon, eight Curlew Sandpipers and four Mediterranean Gulls were also present.

LYNHER ESTUARY; An Osprey was noted at Jupiter Point today.

SENNEN COVE; Nine Turnstone, seven Purple Sandpipers and a Curlew were noted today.

SENNEN; Three Whimbrel were noted on The Green.

Tuesday 13th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

NANQUIDNO; The Wryneck was once again at Mill Cottage today. The two juvenile Choughs were also present.

POLGIGGA; A Nightingale was by the track between Higher and Lower Bosistow Farms this morning. An Ortolan Bunting was also in the area this afternoon.

SENNEN COVE; A first winter Yellow-legged Gull was off the Lifeboat Station today together with two first winter Mediterranean Gulls. A Kingfisher was also noted.

SENNEN; A WESTERN BONELLI'S WARBLER was showing in pines just west of the old 'Wreckers' pub on Treave Common this afternoon. An Ortolan Bunting was also noted in the area.

Monday 12th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

SENNEN COVE; At least three Mediterranean Gulls were present today. A Wryneck was noted at Mayon Cliffs.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; One Pectoral Sandpiper still present today, a Hobby was also noted.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was again present when it was noted flying southwest, a first winter Mediterranean Gull was also noted. A first winter Yellow-legged Gull and a Curlew Sandpiper were present in the afternoon.

AMBLE MARSHES; A juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper was located from the tower hide this afternoon. Five Green Sandpipers were also present.

COLLIFORD LAKE; Two juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present on the west side.

Sunday 11th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; A Spotted Crake is still present in the sanctuary area.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The juvenile Osprey was still present at Lelant Water today, together with four Curlew Sandpipers and two adult Mediterranean Gulls.

PORTHGWARRA; Two Dotterel were located on the moor and were present until 09.30 when they flew out to sea.

PENDEEN; Three Whimbrel flew past this afternoon together with four Curlew. A Wryneck was found feeding on road near the second to last house.

COLLIFORD LAKE; The two juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present near the dam today.

CAPE CORNWALL; The Wryneck was still present at the car park.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; Two Pectoral Sandpipers on the pools at the west side of the reserve.


Saturday 10th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

HAYLE ESTUARY; An Osprey flew over Lelant Water towards St Erth.

LIZARD POINT; A Wryneck was noted next to the road.

CAERTHILLIAN COVE; A Wryneck was noted this morning.

CAPE CORNWALL; A single Wryneck was still at the car park this morning.

COLLIFORD LAKE; The two juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present on the west side today.

KYNANCE FARM; One Wryneck was present today.

WINDY RIDGE FARM, LIZARD; A Wryneck was present here today.

KENIDJACK; A single Firecrest and two Choughs were located today.


 

Friday 9th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; One Spotted Crake still present in the sanctuary area.

HAYLE ESTUARY; A Wryneck was reported from Ryan's Field. At Carnsew Basin, two Curlew Sandpipers and Black Redstart were present. The Osprey was noted fishing again at Lelant Water.

SENNEN COVE; Two Mediterranean Gulls, (a second winter and a first winter) were noted off Lifeboat Station.

ST MAWES; An adult Mediterranean Gull was off the St Mawes Hotel this afternoon.

PORTH KIDNEY BEACH; A Little Tern was with Sandwich Terns this evening.

COLLIFORD LAKE; Still two Buff-breasted Sandpipers present at mid-day.

LAND'S END; A Wryneck was reported near the car-park.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; This evening, one Pectoral Sandpiper was at the west side, also present was one Curlew Sandpiper and two Little Egret.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; A Wryneck was present today.


Thursday 8th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; Two Spotted Crakes still present today.

COLLIFORD RESERVOIR; At least two Buff-breasted Sandpipers still present today.

ST JUST AIRFIELD; Three Dotterel still present today.

NANQUIDNO; The Wryneck was still present at the mill today. The two Chough were still at the seaward end.

PORTHGWARRA; 52 Great Shearwaters past this morning between 13.00 and 14.00.

CAMEL ESTUARY; The Muscovy Duck was still at Wadebridge today, and three Little Egrets were at Egloshayle.

SENNEN COVE; Four Whimbrel were present today.


Wednesday 7th September 2005.

 

MARAZION MARSH; Two Spotted Crakes in the sanctuary area this morning.

ST JUST AIRFIELD; Three Dotterel were present in the ploughed field today.

NANQUIDNO; The Wryneck was still present at the mill this morning. Two Spotted Flycatchers were also noted.

COLLIFORD LAKE; The four Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present today. Four Curlew Sandpiper and two Knot were present this evening.

NANJIZAL; Today single Dotterel and Wryneck were present. Nine Tree Pipits and a Hobby were also noted.

PORTHGWARRA; The Wryneck was still at the wall.

TRESILLIAN RIVER; Two Spotted Redshank and 14 Greenshanks were recorded today.

CROWDY RESERVOIR; A single Curlew Sandpiper was noted today together with two Yellow Wagtails.

LAND'S END; A Wryneck was noted today. Also present were two Whinchats.

CAMEL ESTUARY; A Kingfisher and the Muscovy Duck was present at Wadebridge today.

Tuesday 6th September 2005.

 

NANJIZAL; An Ortolan Bunting and a Dotterel were noted this morning. A juvenile Aquatic Warbler was also noted.

MARAZION MARSH; A Spotted Crake was present  in the sanctuary area this morning.

CAPE CORNWALL; A Wryneck was noted near the car-park.

PORTHGWARRA; A Wryneck was present at the wall this morning.

LAND'S END; An Ortolan Bunting was spotted near the Trinity Cottages this morning.

COLLIFORD LAKE; The four Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present today. The Pectoral Sandpiper was noted at the dam early evening, also present were two Black Tern, one Turnstone, eleven Dunlin, seven Ringed Plover, ten Tufted Duck, 60 Swallow, 210 Lesser Black-backed Gull and one Teal.

COT VALLEY; A Wryneck was noted near Cot Manor this morning. A Pied Flycatcher and two Whinchat were also present.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The Osprey was still present today.

DEVORAN; Eight Curlew Sandpipers were present this evening together with two Knot and single Ruff and Common Sandpiper.

DAVIDSTOW AIRFIELD; A Rock Pipit was on the runways this morning, also noted were 12 Ringed Plover, one Wheatear, 200 Swallow, 70 Pied Wagtail, and 25 Linnet.


Monday 5th September 2005.

 

RAME HEAD; A Melodious Warbler was present at Penlee Nature Reserve this morning, also noted was a Pied Flycatcher.

COLLIFORD RESERVOIR; The four Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present today. Also noted was the Pectoral Sandpiper, three Black Terns and a Little Stint.

HAYLE ESTUARY; The Osprey was still present this morning, as was a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper.

SENNEN COVE; A juvenile Dotterel was present at Mayon Cliffs today. Eight Mediterranean Gulls were also noted.

TREWELLARD; A juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was noted this evening.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; A Garganey was noted today and a Gannet was sighted briefly.

CAMEL ESTUARY; A Kingfisher and the Muscovy Duck was present at Wadebridge again, today.


Sunday 4th September 2005.

 

DRIFT RESERVOIR; The Wood Sandpiper was still present this morning. A Greenshank and two Green Sandpipers were also observed.

COLLIFORD RESERVOIR; The four juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present today, as was the Pectoral Sandpiper and a Little Stint.

NANQUIDNO; A Wryneck was present near the mill this morning. The three Chough were still present at the seaward end. (One found dead the Choughs was found dead this afternoon, half eaten by a Buzzard).

LAND'S END; A Wryneck was noted near the white house this morning. Two Whinchats were also noted.

STITHIANS RESERVOIR; The Buff-breasted Sandpiper was still at Chapel Lane Bay. The Black-necked Grebe was still off the Golden Lion causeway and a Marsh Harrier flew over south late afternoon.

HAYLE ESTUARY; This evening 30 Curlew Sandpipers were present at Lelant Water, an Osprey was noted fishing and three Little Stints were also present.

PENDEEN; An Ortolan Bunting was noted at Roscommon Cliffs this morning.

NANJIZAL; A Dotterel flew over early afternoon.

DAVIDSTOW AIRFIELD; Seven Yellow Wagtails were noted today.

CROWDY RESERVOIR; A Wood Sandpiper was present this afternoon, also present was a single Curlew Sandpiper, one Ruff, three Turnstone, two Little Stint, two Sanderling, three Common Sandpiper, 20 Ringed Plover and three Wigeon.

SENNEN COVE; Seven Mediterranean Gull, (five first winter and single second winter and adult), were present together with a first winter Yellow-legged Gull and a Whimbrel.

CAMEL ESTUARY; A Kingfisher and the Muscovy Duck was present at Wadebridge today.

KENIDJACK; A single Pied Flycatcher was observed.

HEAMOOR; A Dipper was noted.


Saturday 3rd September 2005.

 

COLLIFORD LAKE; The four Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present today. A juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper was also noted as was a Little Stint and six Curlew Sandpipers.

LAND'S END; An Ortolan Bunting was observed north of the white house this morning. A Wryneck and a Turtle Dove was also present.

ST JUST AIRFIELD; Two Dotterel were present this morning in the ploughed field.

SENNEN COVE; Five Mediterranean Gulls were noted off the Lifeboat Station this morning.

DRIFT RESERVOIR; A juvenile Wood Sandpiper was still present today together with three Turnstone and an adult Mediterranean Gull.

CARNYORTH; A juvenile Rose-coloured Starling was noted this morning.

COT VALLEY; A Honey Buzzard flew over this afternoon.

STITHIANS RESERVOIR; The juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpiper was still present at Chapel lane Bay this afternoon. A Black-necked Grebe was noted off the Golden Lion causeway.

KENIDJACK VALLEY; A Wryneck and a Hooded/ Carrion Crow Hybrid was noted today.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; The single Buff-breasted Sandpiper was still present today.


Friday 2nd September 2005.

 

COLLIFORD LAKE; The four Buff-breasted Sandpipers were still present from the second car-park today. Also noted were a Little Stint, ten Dunlin and 20 Ringed Plover. An Osprey flew over at midday. A Wryneck was present near the toilet block in the first car-park this afternoon.

CHURCH COVE, LIZARD; An Icterine Warbler was present in the valley this morning.

STITHIANS RESERVOIR; A juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpiper was observed at Chapel Lane Bay. A Black-necked Grebe and two Ruff were also present.

WINDMILL FARM, LIZARD; A single Buff-breasted Sandpiper was still present today.

Thursday 1st September 2005.

 

NANQUIDNO; One Wryneck was present near the mill this morning. Three Chough were present at the seaward end.

COLLIFORD LAKE; A Lesser Yellowlegs was noted near the dam this morning. Four Buff-breasted Sandpipers were located from the second car-park this afternoon. Also present were three Little Stint, a Greenshank, 30 Dunlin and 20 Ringed Plover.

HAYLE ESTUARY; A Baird's Sandpiper was present at Lelant Saltings this afternoon, for ten minutes prior to 17.30.

POLGIGGA; A Mediterranean Gull was reported as present today.

SENNEN COVE; Three first winter and a second winter Mediterranean Gulls were off the Lifeboat Station today.
